Members Credit Union of North Carolina is based on employees. If your company has a main account with the Members Credit Union, then you can get an individual account. This enables you to take advantage of the credit union features that some banks can't offer to you.
One thing that I noticed was that the interest rates are not as high as the traditional banking institutions. This is alright if you don't have a great deal in savings or if you are needing a loan. On the other hand, it can be problematic if you want to build a savings account or investment money.
The staff at the Members Credit Union is very friendly. They actually seem to get to know the clients. I liked this very much and enjoy not always having to show an ID when doing banking there.
There are a wide range of services. It seems to be easier to get a loan through the Members Credit Union than with a traditional bank. The fees are lower or non-existent compared to other banking institutions.
There are however fewer automatic teller machines that are for the Members Credit Union. You can get stuck paying a lot of ATM fees if you are not careful where you make your ATM withdrawals.

That really is too bad that credit unions don't have as many ATM machines as banks do & then the member has to pay additional fees if you use someone else's machine.
