Memorex 52x 700 Mb 80 Min Cd R By John Gugie on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Just like Memorex DVD-Rs, I used to use these Memorex CD-R discs until I discovered Sony discs. I thought Memorex was my best CD-R media option but after switching to Sony, I'll never go back. I had to trash every few Memorex discs for writing errors. Now I have barely any errors.
52x is a good speed for CDs and it takes about three minutes per disc to burn. None of my burners go faster than 48x, so I can't get full speed. I also notice more burn errors at speeds above 32x.
Many people say that they have had problems with this brand and, in this case, I now agree.
These are silver discs that you can label with markers. Use these discs to make your own music CDs (up to 80 minutes of audio) or back up your computer data.
Memorex CD-R discs are medium-grade media and not too bad. You can do a lot worse. A 100 pack spindle will cost you under $25.

We had the same issues using these Cd's at the higher speeds. I've tried Sony and did not get the same good results you have. So I still use Memorex, because overall they perform very well.
I had not had any trouble with Memorex ones until recently, and I still haven't gotten one group of files to burn correctly. Don't know if it's a problem with the files or the disk.
What is it with CD-Rs? I have had more trouble with that kind storage than any other method. I like my flash drives!
That is too bad that you've had to trash some of your discs for errors-I'm glad that at least the Sony is working better for you though.
