Memorex Recordable C Ds Not So Great By Joan Young on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

About half of these CDs have failed when I tried to write to them, so they ended up not being such a great deal.

I got this spindle pack of 50 Memorex recordable CDs a few years ago for $.8.00 on sale. This was a good price. I expected good things from the Memorex brand. I didn't have any trouble with the first 10 or so.

But then about every other one couldn't be verified when I wrote to the disk, and then were unreadable, so there wasn't anything to do but toss them out. I still have a few left, but I think that when I need more, I'll get a different brand.

The spindle package itself is well designed and handy. As long as you remember to twist the cover it closes tightly and the rest of the pack won't spill. The spindle keeps the disks from sliding together and getting scratched.

However, they don't come with any covers or envelopes. I bought envelopes separately from Staples.

The specs are 700MB, 52x, and 80 min
