I work offshore in the oil industry training and assessing crane operators. This item is subject to a damp rough environment and has worked perfectly for the past year. It comes with a strap and clip so you can carry it comfortably around your neck and detach and use without having to take the strap from around you neck, and a cover for the usb connection port to keep dirt out. I have not had any compatibility isuess with it, it is used in DELL, TOSHIBA, HP laptops and desk top PC, etc., with Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional, and Home, Windows Office 2000 and Windows M E. The one gigabyte of storage is plenty for file, music, and picture transfers, but not enough for most video transfers. The casing is very durable I have been using it for a year and it still looks brand new. A good dependable medium for info transfer from PC to PC.
