Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus A Practical Guide for Improving Communication and Getting What You Want in Your Relationships by John Gray is a must-read. It tackles the differences of men and women, differences that usually become the reason for relationships to fail.

From this book, I've learned the reasons behind men and women's actions. I find myself nodding in agreement when John explains the reasons and motivations of men, and find myself nodding yet again to how he describes women reacting to men's behavior. The other way around is also true, as I've observed my women friends.

Sometimes, we use the same standards on our partners as we use on ourselves. In our subconscious mind, we're saying "You should act like this... This is what you should have done... No, not like that, but like this." It all boils down to "Act more like me!" or "Act in a way that I can understand!" But in real life, that is not the case. Men are really different from women. Men and women live in different standards, in different worlds.

Buy this book, it's definitely worth it if you want to gain better understanding to your husband, spouse, or partner! There's also an audiobook version, which I particularly love since I can listen to it while working.
