I recently experienced first hand that a traffic accident can cause more than just physical and emotional trauma, it can also bring the added worry of having to deal with my car insurance company. After my husband's traffic accident my next step was to contact Michigan Insurance to file a claim. I was nervous because I didn't know how I was supposed to handle the entire situation. They were great at responding to my claim and within hours they were in contact with me and wanted to make sure my husband was alright. The claim went smooth and they paid very promptly so we could get our vehicle fixed and back up and running. Fortunately they never raised our auto rates which was a blessing. We did have a high deductible though of $1000. I would not recommend to anyone to have one that high, stick with $250 or $500 for collision.
