This Microplane is one of my favorite kitchen tools. I love to cook and this really aids in the process.

The Microplane Gratter and Shredder does just that. Grates and shreds just about anything. It is a hand held microplane, just like you would find in a tool box, really.

I have used this microplane for cheeses and vegetables like onions and carrots. I have found that it works like a charm. I especially like it for grating parm cheese over spagetti or salads. The grate is very fine and the cheese melts right over your food. So nice!

I have found that you must use a hard cheese or veggie with this. Anything soft will not work. This is the case with most graters, though.

This microplane is very, very sharp. I have cut myself on this once, so I try to be very careful. It comes with a handy sleeve and I always keep it in that when I am storing it in my kitchen drawer. This also prevents cuts.

The package says it is dishwasher safe, but I usually wash it by hand to keep the stainless steel loking its best. It is very easy to clean by hand, so that is not a problem.

I use this often and would buy it again in a heartbeat!
