Microsoft Office 2007 Home And Student Edition By kristyh on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Being a college student I have papers to write regularly. I had to break down after all my trial versions were up and buy the Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition. I really hated to do it because it was so darn expensive. As if Microsoft really needs to charge $129+tax. The software comes with a disk and key code used to activate. The software does come with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and One Note. There are things I like and dislike about the software. Like:
*Fairly user friendly and easy to use and can be picked up at any local Wal-mart or office supply store
*I like that it came with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. I have never used One Note which is some sort "digital notebook"
*I like that the software does help you put together nice papers for school
Dislike:
*In Word the default settings are odd. For example the font is always set at Calibri 11 point font.
*Some times the programs can be so slow or become non responsive for no reason
*The price is ridiculous, and for that price could they not have thrown in access?
*Does basically the same thing all the previous versions can do
I personally think unless you absolutely need to upgrade for school or work do not purchase this software. I know someone that uses the '98 version and they are completely satisfied. I have a love/hate relationship with this software. Some days I love it and the program works flawlessly other days I hate it because the program will just quit responding in the middle of writing an essay I had not saved yet. I would definitely recommend trying out the trial version first.
