Microsoft Vista By Rae777 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Microsoft Vista - this operating system came with my new computer. The minute I saw it I knew it was going to take some time getting used to it. However, once I got used to it I still did not care for some of the features so I googled “how to make Vista look like Microsoft XP”. This showed me websites that allow me to tweak Microsoft Vista to look like Microsoft XP.
A lot of people say they cannot get old programs to work with Microsoft Vista. However, the only problem I had was with Dragon Naturally Speaking and they offered a new version to go with Microsoft Vista free of charge. Even my decade old printer works with Microsoft Vista.
There were also concerns about Microsoft Vista inability to wake up after going into the sleep mode so when I got Microsoft Vista on my new computer I simply turned off the sleep mode immediately. Now it goes to shut down stage after 15 minutes but one move of the mouse brings it back to life.
If you're going to use Microsoft Vista on any computer it's going to need at least two or three gb ram. I got three gb ram to be safe. Microsoft Vista will take a while to get used to but pretty it probably will be the only operating system Microsoft offers and it's not as bad as one would think.
Microsoft Vista Purchased at: Anywhere Price: Generally on new computers

Good to know. I've heard some really bad things about this:0)
We got Vista on our new computer and at first I hated it now it has been almost a year and it doesn't bother me at all.
You know my old hp printer(its about 8-10 years old) worked right off with it. LOL I had heard people were having trouble with printers with Vista.
Agree with you that microsoft Vista takes some time to get use it, cos I was helping my friend new laptop that is operating on MV and it do find it hard to fiddle around as compared to Window XP
My son purchased Vista for his system and a few days later he was out buying ram and a new video card as he found the OS lagging. Since then he's had no problems. My daughter has Vista on her 6 year old laptop and doesn't have a problem with it. I guess it depends on the configuration - oddly she's running it under only 386mb of Ram!! Thanks for the info, I haven't changed yet but I like how Vista looks so might eventually :)
I run Vista on my Dell laptop, and haven't had an issue with it, other than getting weird "This program has encountered a problem and much shut down" errors after I had already closed the program! They stopped coming quite awhile ago though. Other than that, it runs perfect, and I haven't had any compatibility issues or anything.
