Microsoft Windows Vista Business By bjcyrix on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I know that there are a lot of people who dislike Vista because of some reason or other. They would often recommend that if someone is getting a Vista, rather go for Windows 7 altogether. It is after all the newest OS released by Microsoft.(as of Jan.2010). Why get the older OS when you can have a better OS in W7, right? Why indeed. I have to be honest and say taht Im really not that of an expert when it comes to Operating Systems. I just want my computer and pertinent software to function as I would need them. The Windows Vista Business, is really not that bad as what others would lead the consumer to believe. It doesnt crash as compared to XP, can handle more multi tasking functions with almost every window opened. The graphics and design are better than the old Windows Operating Systems. Though, it can be a bit confusing at times specially when you're used to the XP layout. It is better than XP in terms of overall performance because my old OS was XP. I did prefer XP but my computer didnt want to install XP anymore but it accepted the Vista installment.

There is a fun little feature in the Vista OS and that's one that I am quite liking. This would be the gadget side bar which lets the user put in little applications like Calendar, Clock, Weather, Notes, Stocks, and a whole lot more. There are a lot of different little gadgets to choose from in the Microsoft site so the user can customize the applications that would be visible on their desktop sidebar.

One thing that I do notice that can be a bit of a hassle is when opening or running programs or making certain actions, there would be a lot of prompts asking for my permission to "Continue" or "Cancel" what I just did (installing a new program, etc.) It's nothing serious and I think it's job is to keep everything safe and secure but there is such a thing as overkill.>.

The bottomline with Vista Business is: Im gonna agree with others' recommendations. If you are looking for an upgrade on your XP, I gotta say that it is indeed better to get the Windows 7, but if you're stuck with Vista Business somehow, I see no reason to hate it.^_^

I have friends who like Vista but not the business aspect of it. My husband has to repair and help computer users every day. Vista is one operating system that isn't compatible with many business software programs out there, so it left a lot of businesses, especially those in the medical industry without a fix and without their medical software programs working correctly. Windows 7 has corrected this and it's too bad that many people got stuck with Vista. I personally liked it from just a user aspect but not for business. Thanks for the review.
