Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil By Chenault By Chenault on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Several years ago I purchased a copy of Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil by John Berendt.

This is an excellent book about an incident in 1981 in Savannah GA. It is entertaining and amusing, filled with colorful characters and vivid descriptions of life in the isolated area of Savannah.

John Berendt wrote a first hand account of life in "The Old South" and a landmark murder case, that is unlike any other. In my opinion, there is not a dull moment in this book. It has entertained me several times now. I have seen the movie also, and I am glad I read the book first! Sure the movie is great, but I always prefer the book to a movie.

I hate giving away too many details of the plot, so I won't do that here. I will say this is a fantastic book that reads quickly. If you have considered reading it and haven't yet... What are you waiting for?! This book is based on actual events, and it reads like an exciting novel, it offers the reader insight on Savannah Georgia as well as human nature and behavior. It is exciting, entertaining, humorous and beautifully written. I am happy to have a copy of it in my library.
