Midsummer's Night Dream Wedding Cake By Cindy Chau on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
My uncle gave me the task of buying his wedding cake with his wife. We were searcing for a place close by our home when we stumbled across an ad in the newspaper. We decided to give it a try. At our first tasting there, we discovered that the owner, named Sandy, made cakes out of her home by herself!! She sent us home with 3 different cakes (vanillia and chocolate swirl, lemon, white chocolate and strawberry) and we ate up all of it without leaving any for my uncle :). It was that yummy. After numerous other tastings, we decided to go with Sandy and so we talked to her about the design of the cake. We showed her something from the Brides magazine and not only did it look exactly like the picture, it tasted quite lovely as well!! The pricing was reasonable and she delivered it right on time. I highly recommend Confectioner's Art at Lorton, Virginia!

Sounds fantastic. A good wedding cake is an important part of the ceremony. This one sounds great and at a reasonable price. Thanks for sharing the information.
I bet this was a yummy wedding cake. Lucky you that you got to try all those flavors! Hope uncle was happy too.
I would have been content with all the tasting. LOL Glad you found a great person to do the cake. Thanks for sharing!
The cake tasting is always the best part. The price sounds very reasonable.
Sounds delicious. I think independent bakers are the way to go when getting a wedding cake. It is that much more special and usually cheaper.
I would have loved to see a picture of this cake! It sounds so beautiful and yummy!
This sounds like a very nice cake. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice that you found a local artisan to support (yep, cake decorating is an art to me!). LOL at not saving your uncle any sample to taste though!
