Mineral Veil to Avoid Make-up Meltdown

Reviewing: Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil
Purchased at: Sephora.Com, Qvc     Price: $19.00 USD

Mineral Veil is made by Bare Escentuals, the first company to make pure mineral make-up that is so good for your skin that you can sleep in it -- and maybe you should. This product is a finishing layer, but much lighter and more natural looking than old-fashioned loose powder. It now comes in three formulas: the original translucent veil, a tinted veil that provides a hint of color, and the feather light mineral veil for the sheerest possible finish.

The purpose of Mineral Veil is to give your face "a look of airbrushed perfection," which it does if used correctly.Mineral Veil should be used with a large brush, such as Bare Escentual's Flawless Application Face Brush (or the Soft Focus Face Brush, shown as a retractable in the photo, for the Feather Light veil).Put a very small amount of Mineral Veil in the lid of it's container, swirl your brush in the veil, then tap off any excess powder. Buff the product gently onto your face, over the top of foundation and blush. Although the Bare Escentuals products are made to work together, you can use the Mineral Veil with other cosmetics, and it works very well to keep your make-up in place all day.For extra long wear, use one layer of Mineral Veil after you moisturize and use a primer, and before you apply foundation and blush, then another layer as the finishing touch.

Although the price of $19 for .47 ounce (original; .35 ounce of the tinted or feather light), keep in mind that you need much less than you would with any other powder, and because it is pure minerals, with no fillers or oils, it won't "go bad" like other brands can.I've had mine for over 3 years, and it's still at least half full. The Flawless Application Brush is $19, but it's a great brush and will last much longer than a cheaper one, so it is definitely worth the price.

This is a five out of five, and I'd give it a 10 if I could.
