M Ms Dark Chocolate Peanut Doesnt Work For Me By Joan Young on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Surprisingly, I didn't like this combination as much as I expected.

I love the dark chocolate M&Ms. I love peanut M&Ms. But somehow when these are put together something got lost in the translation in my opinion.

The picture shows two different packaging designs. The purple one is the regular bag, and the other one is for the holidays with just red and green M&Ms.

Now, let me be clear... it's not that I don't like them at all! We obviously bought a second bag. And hubby likes them just fine. But if I were making the choice I guess I wouldn't choose peanuts to go with my dark chocolate. Perhaps that knowledge should guide me in other dark chocolate purchases!

These are the typical M&M format with a candy coating over chocolate, and sometimes over a nut center, in this case peanuts.

The 2008 Holiday bag has a recipe on the back called Greet & Eat Gifts. It is a purely caloric combination of M&Ms, Dove Chocolate, popcorn, and marshmallow made into bars. I think we won't need to make that, but you might like it.

These are 120- 130 calories for about 10 M&Ms, a nice easy ration size to remember. Or, their suggested serving size is 1.5 ounces at 220 calories. That comes out to about 15 M&Ms.

Those still sound really, really good! I might give them a shot.
