M Ms Premiums Triple Chocolate Ok Not Like M Ms By Joan Young on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I bought a package of these on sale. They are very pretty, and tasted pretty good, but they don't taste like regular M&Ms very much, and I think there are better fancy chocolates for the price.
These are something you might buy for a special party, certainly not for everyday eating. I happened to get a pack on markdown for half price, which made them only expensive, not exorbitant. The description fascinated me: “layers of milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate.” They do have all these, but somehow it just doesn't work for me.
Starting with the appearance, these are slightly larger than regular M&Ms. They are mottled purple on the outside, and each has the “m” trademark stamp. So, they look very impressive!
You can actually see the layers of the chocolate on the inside. And you can taste each of the layers too. I didn't think that the tiny layer of white chocolate would be discernable, but it was.
Overall, these tasted quite a lot more like milk chocolate than regular M&Ms. They also are softer, without that slightly crunchy feel. I would say that unless you just want a fancy M&Ms look, there are better chocolate treats available for the price.
Regular price $3.39 for 6 ounces.

Regular M&Ms are the best.
