My husband and I have three dachshunds, and we lost a dachshund this past April that we adopted from the SPCA. When I saw this figurine called Mommy and Me from the Danbury Mint, I knew we had to have it. Our deceased dachshund was still alive at the time but was very sick, and we knew we wouldn't have him much longer. This figurine was something my husband and I wanted to have to remember him by. At that time we had no idea we would end up with three dachshund pups after our adopted dachshund passed away. Just goes to show you, you never know what the future holds.
Anyway, this figurine is really cute. It portrays a mother dachshund with her little pup climbing on top of her. It was purchased from the Danbury Mint for $69.99 plus shipping and handling (in two payments). It really is a cute figurine, very well crafted, and came to us packed very well to prevent breakage. We have the figurine displayed on a chest of drawers in our bedroom with our deceased dog's ashes in an urn right alongside of it.

This is about the only kind of dog we had while I was growing up. My mother loves dachshunds. She still talks about getting another. Someone gave her a similar figurine but its one dog and its a black dachshund.
