Money Jar Bank
By cukal6 onI bought this bank for my son last year when we were saving for our next Disney trip.He was only 5 at the time and was just learning how to count money.I liked this particular money jar because it's designed specifically for kids. It's got an interesting pattern on the lid and you can see through the jar to watch the money grow.
You have to put one coin at a time through the lid, and it automatically adds up your total and shows it on the digital screen. However, it does not add dollar bills. If you put any in, you will have to keep track yourself. You will also have to keep track if you take any money out because there is no way to subtract from the total.
Overall, it was a great learning tool for my son and he loved watching the total get higher. It was also great for me because I didn't have to keep counting all that change. When it would get full, we would just empty it into a bigger container with a slip of paper containing the total. Then we would start over.
If you have young children, or even older children, I would recommend this product to help them learn to save. It's easier when you see that total get bigger!

What a cute idea for an upcoming trip. Everyone has to save for a vacation and this teaches children to save and have fun doing it. A reward for saving = Disney !
I saved my way to camp every year with a bank that counted dimes. These are great for learning how to make the money add up.
I love this as a goal setting tool for young children. They get to observe the real time rewards in saving with this. What a good character education aid.
What a good way to teach children to save! I think I'll take a look at this bank myself.
A great way to get kids started on saving.
I have seen something similar online and thought that it looked pretty neat.
I like that it is designed for kids too.
What a great incentive for kids to save!
Both my girls have this and they just love to put money into it. Thanks for sharing.
My son has this same jar. His grandparents got it for him for his birthday a few years ago. I agree it is a pretty neat money jar for kids!
