MONSTER WIRE, MONSTER SOUND
By Debbie831 onI have to be the first to admit that I don't know anything about speaker wire. I always thought wire is wire is wire until I bought my new surrond sound system. I had just bought a new 50" TV and I bought the surround sound system to go with it. My daughters boyfriend offered to come hook everything up for me, since he had worked in home theater during college. Of course I had no problem with that.
Well he showed up and the first thing he said we need to go to Best Buy! I said what for, he said we need to get monster cables for your speakers. I told him it comes with speaker wire and he just shook his head and said trust meMom. We went to Best Buy and he picked out the monster cables he needed and said this is on me!
When we got back he said I am going to show why we went and bought these cables. He first hooked up the speaker wire that came with the speakers, put in a movie and I said wow nice sound! He just laughed at me and then said wait. He then hooked up the monster cables and yes even I could hear the difference. I was totally amazed that a wire could make a difference in the sound quality. I was sold!
Lesson of the story - if you are going to spend your hard earned money on a good sound system and tv make sure you spend some money on good speaker wires to get the best sound out of your system!

Although pretty expensive, my husband has proven to me that it's worth it to get the monster cables, don't you just hate it when they're right? Haha.
I agree the monster cables do give better sound. They are expensive but they are well worth the money.
You made a very valid point. Many people just don't think about the wires they use, but it is a crucial element. Thanks for sharing this information.
My husband is the one who deals with all of this, I would have something backwards for sure,LOL. I know that he has used different wires and cables and says you get what you pay for in this instance.
I'll keep this product "Monster" in mind when we switch over to a new surround system. It's filed in my memory just by the name of the product !
Glad to hear these make a difference. We bought the monster wire on the recommendation of the guy at Besty Buy, but didn't know how much better they were!
I have always had good luck with monster cables. It is hard to spend so much money on cables.
I'm also one of those who would have never believed different wires would make that great of a sound difference! Wow, now if only my daughter would bring home one that was useful like this, instead of boyfriends who are only good for eating my food!
I will admit that I am one who thinks a wire is a wire ---- after reading this I guess it is not true. One of these days when we get a newer TV I will keep in mind that wires are important. By the way your daughter's boyfriend sounds like a keeper ;)
