It's almost Halloween time and we purchased this book from a school book fair. The fact that it has scary stories,got our attention. The book has approximately 160 pages and has black and white pictures. It consists of 22 stories from around the world. Places like Spain, China, Germany, Egypt etc. The short stories come from folklore tales. Many of the stories go back hundreds of years, and include spooky tales of the past. You will read about the a man who marries a corpse, the story of the haunted bell in Spain, or the evil sea ghost in Norway. They suggest the reading for ages 9-12 years of age. At the end of the book there is a great list of soucres / references to the stories to further your scary reading. I have even read this book and thought it very interesting. As a grandmother i still like a scary story now and then. A great book for reading around the campfire or at a party if you like witches,vampires,ghosts or spooky tales.
