More Magazine By Chefmom on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

It's rare to think of a mainstream magazine as inspirational, but that's exactly what MORE is. Designed to sell to women over 40, it's chock full of tips, ideas, articles and pictures that portray women of 40, 50, 60 and older living full and meaningful lives. I picked up this magazine in the grocery store check-out line when I was feeling discouraged about being 50, pulling out gray roots and trying to re-start a career after 18 years of being more or less a stay-at-home-mom. MORE was filled with inspiring stories of women even older than me who had started a second life. That particular issue even included a pull-out section called "Firsts After 40, 40 and 60: Inspiring Stories From Women Who Refuse To Act Their Age." I actually spent several hours going through that issue. Lately, I've taken a new look at my life, and that includes jump-starting the writing career that's been on hold for years. Maybe I would have done this without MORE, but then again . . . If you're female and at that second half of life stage, this is the one publication you need to read.
