Mosquito Bites? No Problem!

While vacationing in the Catskill Mountains we decided to go fishing at Swan Lake which was at the end of the street where we were staying.We were fishing all day.All of a sudden, like a science fiction movie, I felt itchy around my ankles and when I looked down I was covered in mosquitos.My boyfriend had gotten attacked as well.We bolted out of there.We burst in the door begging for calidryl.My dad gave us Lanacane saying it was the best.I had never even heard of it before.The main two ingredients are benzocaine and benzothonium chloride and they stopped the itching right away.The itch relief lasted at least eight hours before I had to reapply.I am so glad my dad was prepared.I think most of you reading this are allergic to mosquito bites so next time have your lanacane ready and I promise you will be itch free in a matter of seconds.
Hey, thanks for the info! Wish I had known about this last month when I was in Kauai on the North Shore.... I sure could have used it then. I'll remember next time for sure!
Now that is a horror story to me! Mosquitos love me and I always have some lanacaine on hand during the summer.
I've never used Lanacane, having always used an after-bite product instead. Sounds like it works great tho. I hate those mosquiters!
Having always used Benadryl cream or cortisone, I'd never thought about Lanacane. But it is an anti-itch cream, so it should work well for insect bites too.
I have not heard of Lanacane, either. We'll need to get some. Usually, mosquitos are not a big problem here, but sometimes they show up in the evening to spoil a cookout...

Hi! WARNING TO ALL THOSE ABOUT TO USE LANACANE - EXTRA STRENGTH IN MY CASE: ALLERGIC REACTION: Approximately 1 week ago today.. I applied Lanacane for a bothersome itch.. All hell broke loose within the hour... The symptoms were both nasting and quite unbearable at times...to say the least. Also, had to get medical attention within 24 hours... This list includes the symptoms I encountered as a result of of using this damn medication...Sorry... Bad experience...!! Thought people should know... Began blistering all over my body, ESPECIALLY,on hands and in any region that came in contact with Lancane.. Scratching beyond anything you can imagine, all over body... Developed hives & swelling... Lost fingernails due to contact dermatitis, directly, related to Lanacane.. Nausea .. Many waking hours in unbearable discomfort ... As a result to the allergic reaction... Developed chills and sweating, due to secondary infection from blisters and scratching... I am know on day 7 using sterioids for itching, swelling, hives, and contact dermatitis that continues to dominate my life as a result of Lancane... NIGHTMARE !!!! Wanted to pass this on ! SO OTHERS WOULDN'T HAVE TO SUFFER, NEEDLESSLY, BECAUSE OF THIS PRODUCT. Lots of tears later, DD
