Motel 6 Leaves Much To Be Desired

Motel 6 is known as a cheap, seedy hotel chain that people stay at when they don't have any other choice, typically because of price. Therefore, not much is expected of them in terms of lack of shadiness. However, when my mother and I went to Las Vegas, NV, we stayed in a Motel 6 on East Tropicana.

One of the things about Motel 6 that people expect is that they'll stay at a decent price range every day, and that their prices stay below hotels that are much nicer. However, that is only one complaint against this specific Motel 6. Their prices skyrocketed. One of the reasons for the dramatic increase was because of the weekend. The other, when the prices increased beyond those of much better hotel chains, was due to a convention coming into town.

The front desk and maid services were also lacking, and when we called to ask about our left over belongings, we were lied to and told that we left nothing behind when we knew we'd left things behind. This was done amongst unprofessional giggling, as the time was nearing the last half hour of the lost and found being open.

Overall, I would not recommend the Motel 6 on East Tropicana in Las Vegas. There are much better, professional motels in the same area that are less seedy and don't overcharge. It was a very bad experience staying in that motel.
