Mr Jack board game
By cybeeb onOk, so I got this game for Christmas. I haven't played it very much and I don't really think I will play it that often. It looked really cool and the synopsis sounded good. This is a two player board game where one person is the detective and the other person plays as Jack the Ripper. The board is very well done, the pieces are very detailed and the instructions are not hard to follow. There are eight character tokens. One of these (different every game) is Mr Jack. This is kind of a guessingand elimination game. Both players get to move two different characters every turn. There are eight turns to the game. There are gaslights in the game, six to start and then every turn you remove one. At the end of every turn the person playing playing the detective asks if Jack can be seen (witnessed). If there is a character beside Jack or if Jack is standing in the gaslight (in a space beside a gaslight) then Jack can be seen. If not then he is not seen. Every character token has two sides, guilty and innocent. The person playing the detective can then eliminate some of the characters as suspect. For example, if the character playing Jack can be seen then the detective can turn over all the unseen characters to the innocent side. There are also four exits to the city. If Jack can get out of the city before he is caught then Jack wins. If the detective figures out who Jack is and can get to the space beside Jack then the detective wins. Wow, the game sounds cool when you tell someone about it. But when you play, it doesn't seem that hard to figure out who Jack is. Maybe I will give it some more time.
