Musical Potty Chair By Janna on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My two year old son is in the process of being potty trained. At first I tried to train him on the regular household toilet because he seemed genuinely interested. But I soon realized once I sat him down that it just wasn't going to work.

I purchased my son a musical potty chair that doubles as a step stool for when he brushes his teeth or graduates to using the big potty and needs something to stand on. This Fisher Price chair is like most other potty chairs except that it plays music when the child "uses" it. There is a little music box (made of hard plastic and is battery operated) that sits underneath the container that collects the urine or poo.

My son thought that this potty chair was the greatest toy. He really loved the music. In fact he loved the music so much that he dismantled the chair (not difficult to do) and carried the music box around with him wherever he went.

I feel that this musical potty chair is a great training tool when it comes to breaking the diaper habit. It gives the toddlers a nice song to praise and encourage them to continue to use the bathroom like a big kid. This chair is easy to clean and simple to take apart and put back together.
