My Charm is my Treasure

This review has a little story to go along with it.

I got this cross charm last year, March 21st, 2007. The reason that I know the exact day is because that was also the day I found out I was pregnant.
I had a pretty tough battle getting pregnant but after different medications, fertility drugs, tests, and injections, I was blessed to get pregnant.

I had told my mother that I was pregnant as soon as I got the positive test. That day she nervously waited at her work to wait on us to show up with the news. But I told her that I didn't want anyone to know for a while. With my disease, PCOS, there is a higher level of miscarriage so I was afraid to tell too many people. Well, ironically my grandmother happened to be visiting my mom at work right as we arrived. I was able to give signals to my mom to tell her that we were pregnant but I wasn't able to say any more.

A few weeks before this, my grandmother had decided to get all of her daughters a cross charm. Well, she said that since I was like a daughter to her, she would get me one too but we never got around to picking one out. When she saw me that day she said "C'mon, lets go get you that charm, I have a feeling I need to get it for you now". That scared me a little because I knew she had no idea I was pregnant. So we went and picked out this charm. It took everything in me to not share the good news but I wanted to wait.

Later I told my husband that this charm was truly my treasure. It was exactly what I needed at that time to help me through all of the fears going through my head. I wore it through my entire pregnancy every day, and even during the birth of my daughter.

I recently made a promise to my little girl that the day she comes to me and says "Mommy, I'm having a baby", the charm will then be her treasure to keep.

So that is the story that goes along with this charm. Now for some of the details of it. The charm is 14K White gold. It is 1" long and 1/2" wide. The clasp is still on very well and there are no dints or scratches on the charm. The back of the charm is flat but the front is contoured. I really love the simple design of it and people always remark on how nice it looks.
I bought the necklace separately.

This charm means the world to me and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a little something special to wear or give as a gift.

Beautiful charm but an even more beautiful story. As a fellow cyster I can truly empathize with your fears and feelings and I'm glad this charm helped to bring you a little peace.
