My Crocs and Me; A Love Story

I always choose the wrong shoe. I found the cutest little sandals before a trip to NYC, and I was excited to wear them the day we visited the Bronx Botanical Gardens. We walked from our hotel to Grand Central Station and then took a train to the Bronx for the visit to the gardens.

The gardens were lovely and the art exhibit going on at the time (Dale Chihuly if you're interested) was just breath-taking. My poor feet, however, were a different story. My cute sandals turned out to be not so supportive. By the time we were finished my feet were really hurting. I had rubbed a couple of blisters on my feet. We took the train back to Grand Central Station and I took my shoes off. I couldn't stand it. Then on the way out we passed a little store. I think it was an outdoorsy type store, but I don't remember. All I recall is the beautful display of Crocs. I immediately entered the store.

My first pair of Crocs are a really great teal color. They are squishy and comfortable, and I love them. I know lots of people think that they are ugly but I think they're kind of cool looking.

Later I did try a pair of knock-off non-Crocs and they were not even close to as good. I've since gotten several more pairs of the real deal. I even bought some for my 80 year old grandmother. She loves them!

Long live the Croc. I love these things. I will be wearing them way after they've gone out of style.
