My Life Among The Serial Killers By halcamdad on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My Life Among the Serial Killers: Inside the Minds of the World's Most Notorious Murderers by Dr. Helen Morrison is an interesting account of her personal experiences (she's a forensic psychiatrist who specializes in serial killers) with serial killers. She presents many fascinating transcripts of her interviews with some of the most vicious predators of our times including John Wayne Gacy. To read about her face to face encounters with these monsters was very eerie.

In so many words, she makes the reader think that she's going to unravel the mind of the serial killer and offer explanations for behavior or profiling information or SOMETHING. Unfortunately, her deductions are very weak and she offers very little in the form of explanation for the behavior that she spent so many years analyzing. Even hypothetical constructs could have been intriguing. Somewhat disappointing book! If you want interview transcripts and crime history, check it out. If you want to learn more about this deviant behavior, you'll be disappointed.
