My Life Saver! By loveonce1 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Last year I bought 1987 Chapparal boat. I love going out on the water. Having my own boat was a great idea. Unfortunately with the gas prices going up so much we don't take it out as much. I waned to make sure that I have plenty of lifevest for all the occupants, since it was the law. Also, I didn't want to get the plain orange kind that no one would enjoy wearing.

I found them back in the sporting goods department. I liked them even before I saw the price. They came in 4 different sizes and all different colors. I got red and black for me. They are very comfortable and I like that they have a zipper instead of the 3-clasp kind. We decided to get 3 on one trip and when we had more money we would get 3 more. They were about $30 according to the sticker. When we took them to check out they rang up for half that so we decided to get all six.

I love that when you are in the water they don't come up over your head. I hate that feeling like I am choking and I have never gotten that way with these. Also they are comfortable if you have to swim with it on too. They are not too bulky at all.

If you are in the market for a decent lifevest at a cheap price than these are perfect for you.

We have a boat as well.. we usually carry two nice expensive vests for skiing etc.. but are always in search of cheap jackets for that just in case scenerio.. or when the good ole Coast Guard decides to pull you over and board your vessle for inspection.. Thanks for the info!

What a good deal you got! And so lucky too! Just walking in and picking out the one you wanted and finding out by chance that it was half off! I love days like those.

That's a great price - do they come in children/infant sizes? We're planning some "on the water" trips this summer and I need to get a child's and an infant lifevest...

I know exactly what you're talking about when you said that you don't like it when the vest comes over your head & you feel like you're choking-I'm glad you don't feel that way with this vest!
