My New Favorite By Jan Mayrhofer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I like using mechanical pencils in my bookkeeping job because pencil is the only way to go when you have to make alterations to things you've already written, which happens to be the case all the time for me.
These mechanical pencils came two to a package. I bought them one day when I discovered someone had "borrowed" my old mechanical pencil from my office. I was mad that I had to spend so much, but I really don't like the cheap ones so decided to take a chance. I didn't really think I would like these pencils because they don't have a fat barrel like I'm used to. But it turns out I was wrong about that!
I think the barrel is a little larger than most pencils, but the thing I like most about them is the weight and balance. This makes them easy to hold and use throughout my work day.
The eraser is pretty good, too. It is good and long and twists up as you need more of it. No more running out of eraser before you run out of pencil!
The Tul pencils have .05 sized lead in them which is what I like for fitting all the numbers in the small spaces I have to put them in. The lead is refillable, too, which means I can keep these pencils around for a long time. Well, that is, until someone steals them!
Tul Mechanical Pencils Purchased at: Safeway Price: $8.99

I like a good mechanical pencil too, but I haven't actually used one since grad school. Too lazy, I guess.
I used mechanical pencil for drafting during college. No sharpening hassle.
