If you are looking for an alternative to back up the data on your computer hard drive you may want to consider a My Passport Essential SE ultra-portable hard drive made by Westen Digital. The My Passport Essential SE is a 750 GB, high capacity, portable hard drive with a USB 2.0 interface. It is 0.70" (18mm) high, 3.2" (83mm) long, 4.3" (110mm) wide and weighs 0.44 pounds (0.20kg). The size and capacity make the for backing up and transferring computer files.

The My Passport Essential SE comes equipped with WD SmartWare software which provides a visual display of the data that is stored on the ultra-portable hard drive. It also comes with an automatic continuous backup feature that will rebackup a file whenever it is changed. The My Passport Essential SE is password protected drive with a lock feature to protect your data.

Western Digital also makes a My Passport Essential which comes in either 640 GB, 500 Gb, 320 GB and 250 GB capacities. The My Passport Essential and the My Passport Essential SE are both compatible with Windows 7.

I purchased my My Passport Essential SE on sale at Best Buy for $129.99. The ultra-portable hard drive is a great alternative to an off-site external backup sevice that allows you to take your data with you whenever you are on-the-go without the need to access the internet.

Western Digital seems to be pretty good. I had a Seagate external hard drive that crashed on me. Now I have a Western Digital, and so far, so good.

I have been using an older version of the WD passport for about 4 years and it is very reliable. However I recently purchased this WD passport SE as I needed more space, but this newer version runs much slower than my older version, no matter what computer i plug it into. And I really mean SLOW
