My Tiger Eye Ring By Becky Knouff on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
On my 18th birthday, my Dad bought me a Tiger Eye ring. I cherished it and kept it until the night it was lost. I have no idea where exactly I lost it, but the search for the ring continued for several days. It was never found. My Dad died in October, of 1980. Just a little over one year later.
I happened to be shopping on eBay one day, and this ring caught my eye. It was not exactly like the ring my Dad had bought me, but it was pretty close. I had to have it, and I did buy it that day.
The ring has a 14 caret gold band with a genuine tiger eye stone. It has excellent quality. When I go to the Jewelers to get it professionally cleaned, they always comment on this unique ring.
It is not the exact ring which my dad bought me. Although, it is so close, that it does remind me of him. It was my promise to him that I would replace it one day to respect and appreciate the gift he had given me. I fulfilled that promise, and this ring is one of my most valued possessions.

What a wonderful way to remember your dad! I love jewelry of all kinds, especially rings. Tigers Eye stones are unique and beautiful. This ring will be a great reminder of your father's love.
I'm glad you were able to get such a unique piece to remember your father by. Wouldn't it be nice if you were to find the old one again, too?
What a gorgeous ring but even more than that, what a beautiful tribute to your dad-you'll always be reminded of him when you look down at your ring!
What a beautiful ring. Thanks for the great information. Having that to remind you of your dad is priceless.
Tiger Eye is my husband's favorite stone. Very nice.
I love tiger eye stones and it is so nice to hear you found something to remind of you of the cherished keepsake you once had!
Sorry to hear you lost your original ring. I think this one is beautiful but it will never be able to replace the one he gave you.
Too bad you couldn't find the original one your dad had gotten you, this one is still nice, and great that it does remind you of him.
What a sweet story,. I am so sad you lost your original ring, but this is a good replacement and the memories are carrying on!
I love your story, even though it's kind of sad. I hate it when I lose things that are so sentimental! I'm glad you found something that's similar to make you think of your dad.
