My Trusted Mongol Pencils By poshpost on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Mongol Pencils #1 have been my trusted my brand since I was in elementary school. Up until now, even after working for so many years as a professional, I never fail to have a sharpened Mongol Pencil #1 on my desk.
Mongol pencils are tough and smooth. They are a little pricey than other local brands, but since the lead doesn't break off easily, I can use it until I can barely hold.
It is very easy to sharpen because the wood is soft. But firm on the grip.
Additionally, the writing of this pencil is easy to erase, and my paper doesn't get torn.
Mongol pencils come in 3 variants, #1, 2 and 3, however, I like the #1. I believe that the number is for different uses of the pencil. But for me, that I only use it to write and for drafts, #1 is enough.

I haven't heard of Mongol pencils!! They sound great!!
Have seen these but never picked them up, will have to give them a try. Thanks for the info
I believe the #1 is a darker, softer lead. I like them better than #2 as well. I had a set of Mongol colored pencils as a child.
