My Wedding Cake

Ok so I just got married on July 12th of this year and we did not want to spend alot of money on a wedding cake, the place where I got my dress wanted to charge $1.50 per SLICE and we did not see the need to do it like that so we went to wal mart and looked at their cakes, my now mother in law and father in law were the ones paying for the cake so we did not want to spend to much any way, I found a half sheet cake at wal mart and it was only about $30.00 so I picked out the colors of the flowers and then added a seven inch round cake to the corner for the cake topper which I also got at wal mart for only $12.00, the seven inch round cake only cost $5.00 more so I was like yesthis is the cake for us! We went with the buttercream icing which is great. They did an excellent job on the colors and the decorating and you only have to really give them twenty four hours notice for a cake thats a single layer so that is a plus. So all and all I will be ordering cakes from wal mart again for birthdays and such.
You were very thrifty in selecting a cake that worked for your wedding. Many years of happiness- I have been married 43 years.

Wonderful cake! I wish I would have thought of dong something like that. I got married at the courthouse and always regretted not having a fancy cake. If only I had been as smart as you!! :)

Congratulations on your marriage, sounds like you did great with the cake, it looks very nice. Our Wal-marts here don't have a cake shop although one is being built that is suppose to have everything - can't wait - we're getting tired of the cakes from the grocery stores :) Thanks for the info
