Naked Lunch By WreathofBarbs on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Naked Lunch is a novel by late author William S. Burroughs. Burroughs, a self-proclaimed drug-guru and well-known addict turned novelist claims to not remember or only vaguely remember writing most of this notoriously controversial novel. Written as a bizarre, disjointed series of vignettes following the narrator and various characters he shifts focus onto. I found it to be an interesting delve into the drug-addled and hallucinogen soaked world of William Burroughs. From the Nova Express to the Black Meat (meat taken from inside the carapace of a deep sea centipede) to the Mugwumps, a race of alien people who occasionally get captured for the goo that drips from tendrils on the tops of their heads that has an anasthetic effect. Overall, I recommend it, if you don't mind the extremely bizarre, hard to follow chaos of the mind of Mr. Burroughs.
