Natrapel Plus Insect Repellent
By Sarahlovesmickey onWhen it comes to insect repellents, I tend to lean towards buying the ones that are natural and DEET free.My children are young and I do not like exposing them to DEET all summer long.I did some research on the internet and decided to give Natrapel Plus Insect Repellent a try.You can use this repellent on babies as young as six months old, which is a pro.
You only get a small four ounce bottle for approximately $6. I found that price to be a little bit high, but most insect repellents are expensive.
The smell of this repellent is like a citronella candle. That is probably due to the fact that the main active ingredient is Citronella Oil. This repellent offers protection from mosquitos, black fleas, biting midges, chiggers, gnats, fleas, no-see-ums and common house flies. The website states that this repellent lasts for four hours, however I found it to be effective for 2 1/2-3 hours maximum. This is a non-oily and non-greasy bug repellent.

I agree witht he price being a bit steep. Thank you for the information.
Even though it doesn't last as long, it does make you feel better to use something natural on children.
I'm all into the natural insect repellents... this sounds like a good one to try! thanks for sharing your experience with it!
I look for the Deet free as well. I'll have to check this one out for my family this summer.
I might check this one out, it sounds healthy, and the scent appears to be fine. Deet free is a big plus, too.
Sounds like it works well but it doesn't seem to work for too long.
Mmmm, never heard of this Sarah. Thanks for the info.
I'm not crazy about DEET either. Actually, getting 2-3 hours from one application is pretty darn good. I don't believe any of that 4 hour stuff. I've heard of this product but hadn't heard how well it works. Glad to have the info.
I have never heard of this one, it is scarey what insects can do to us :S
