Natural History Magazine By Ally on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My mom got us a subscription to Natural History Magazine, which stems from The Museum Of Natrual History. Even if I never read an article in this magazine I would still give it two thumbs up for the photography alone. The photo on this particular cover (shown below) was actually taken by a husband and wife out on expedition together. It took them two months or there about to get this amazing shot. After every great photograph is an article about the photo and then the article for which it was taken. I really enjoy this magazine because it takes you through the ages. It explains how certain animals tie back to the prehistoric era. It takes you back through what the beliefs were in a society compared to what we believe today. It is not like reading a text book though. There are the facts, yes. However, they are given in such a way that if you close your eyes you are in the past. The articles are decent in length also. Not too long son you lose interest but not too short so that you are left un fulfilled in your reading. This would be a great subscription for students. It's a great source for history reports I would say. Plus again the photos are so eye catching you get pulled right in!
