Need More Clothing Space? By autumnleaves on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
When we found out that we were expecting I knew I needed somewhere to store the babies clothes. Since I was using the closet in the nursery we would need to purchase something where I could hang his clothes. We purchased this armoire offline and had it sent to the nearest Wal-Mart so we didn't have to pay for shipping. It took my husband and I approximately 30 minutes to assemble the armoire.
I personally really like the looks of the armoire. There are 2 doors up top that open to a storage area and 2 drawers on the bottom. The armoire did not come with a rod nor did it have a place for a rod to hang clothes on. So my husband bought a tension rod and we are using that for now. However as my baby gets older and his clothes gets heavier he may need to screw the rod in place. At this time it isn't very sturdy. The handles are an antique metal finish. The wood is laminate finish and in my opinion is really pretty. There is a decorative "kick" plate at the bottom of the armoire. It is pretty sturdy on my carpet but since I do have a young child we will be bolting it to the wall with the L brackets that came with it. There is a 5 year warranty.
Other than having to rig a rod to hang clothes on I really like this armoire and would recommend it to someone needing to add more closet space.
South Shore Country Pine Armoire Purchased at: Wal-Mart Price: $179.99

An armoire sounds perfect to store your child's clothing. Adding a tension rod is a great idea to hang his clothing. It shouldn't be difficult to add a permanent rod later, when your child gets older. An armoire is not only convenient, but it's also a beautiful piece of furniture.
I really debated an armoire vs. a dresser for my daughter's nursery... I'm sure this is a beautiful piece of furniture that will have many uses beyond baby clothes.
I love the ship to store option that Walmart has. It saves so much on shipping. This sounds perfect for storing your babies clothes.
I'm glad you are bolting this to the wall. It's important for a large piece of furniture to be stable when you have children around. It sounds like a great find. Wonder why they don't have a rod already installed fo hanging clothes? Strange!
We could really use something like this. Now only if we had the room to put it somewhere!
Sounds like you got a great price on this piece and you gotta love free shipping.
We nebver have enough room for all of our clothes, this is a great alternative.
I'm in love with armoires, and now that I'm alone, prefer them to dressers. They are usually very attractive and can hold lots of clothing. I too find it strange yours didn't at least come with an optional hanging rod.
I have bought furniture there and I like it. How fun is it to assemble it? LOL
