Negril, Jamaica

Our family loves to travel.We went to Negril, Jamaica and stayed at the RIU.Loved this resort!We took 2 children ages 10 and 5.The resort had plenty to do for them.

The drive to the resort from the airport was a bit crazy.The roads are a bit narrow when you go thru the little towns and the drivers are a bit crazy.But once you get to the resort it's awesome.

The RIU is beautiful.There are several buildings on the resort housing the rooms.We ended up staying in the first building closest to the pools and all the activities.With the kids we were glad that we got this building.If I were going just as a couple, I might like one of the other buildings better for more privacy.Not that it wasn't private but there is just more commotion going on in the first building.I think they tend to try to put everyone with kids around the same area.

The pools were great.One of the pools had the swim up bar and the other one did not.They were both used probably about the same.The one without the swim up bar had all the activities in it with the entertainment staff.They were great.The beach was just a few steps down from the pools and the ocean was really beautiful.The RIU is on a cove so you don't have all the commotion and buziness like some other resorts.

The restaurants have great options.They have a buffet style restaurant that has lots of choices.In the evening they have 2 restaurants that you have to make reservations to.We went to them and they were also great.Very good food.

I would definitely recommend the RIU.We will be going back!
