Neosporin Antibiotic Ointment
By Karen onMy husband's doctor gave him some free samples of Neosporin Antibiotic Ointment for a diabetic wound he had.I've used Neosporin myself when I've had cuts and scrapes that I wanted to protect from infection.I must admit that my husband does not get the benefit of this ointment as much as I do, because his diabetes complicates healing. But I've had good results from Neosporin when I've used it.
Neosporin contains Neomycin, Polymyxin B Sulfates and Bacitracin Zinc. You are not to use this ointment for deep puncture wounds, animal bites or serious burns unless advised by a doctor. You also are not to use it if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this ointment, and it should never be put in the eyes or used over a large area of the body.
For simple wounds which could use a little extra help in healing, this ointment is good. The inactive ingredients are cocoa butter, cottonseed oil, olive oil, sodium pyruvate, Vitamin E and white petrolatum.
Neosporin is a good antibiotic ointment.
