Neutrogena Tone Correcting Serum By Tina Lehman on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

After two pregnancies back to back, I found myself with dark spots from melasma on my cheeks that did not go away. I tried to ignore them thinking they were not that noticeable until my hairdresser tried to wipe some off my face thinking she'd dripped hair color on me. Then I decided to do something.

My first inclination was to go to a dermatologist, but a $30 copay and more for a prescription cream was more than I was willing to pay. So, I decided to go the over the counter route and purchased some Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Even Illuminate Repair Tone Correcting Concentrated Serum. At just under $20 for a tube I thought it would be worth trying. The tube is small, but it was enough to take me through a month of daily use.

I applied the Neutrogena Tone Correcting Serum to a clean face right before bedtime. The Tone Correcting Serum did not irritate or dry my skin at all. I read that it could take a few weeks for it to begin working, but within a week I noticed that my skin felt smoother. Over time I did notice that the spots began to fade and when I asked my mom (who hadn't seen me in months) if she could see a difference, she told me she could no longer see the melasma spots at all. Now, I think I can still see them (mostly because I look pretty hard) but for the most part this product really worked to even my skin tone. I was impressed with the results and highly recommend this product to someone with a skin issue similar to my own.
