Several years ago our family got our first dog. He's a lab/border collie mix and needs a lot of exercise. About that same time, I started taking my health much more seriously so I started dieting and I need a lot of exercise too! I took up walking because there are no gym fees to pay, class times to schedule and it's easy and cheap - except for the shoes!

I started out just wearing an old pair of sneakers that were in my closet. Those were ok for awhile but when I started going longer distances and at faster speeds, I realized they weren't giving me very good support. When I went shopping for some GOOD walking shoes, I was shocked at the prices. Many were over $100.

One day, on one of our periodic shopping trips to Marshall's, I looked at the athletic shoes and found several pairs of New Balance on clearance. I remembered reading that New Balance offer good support for exercising. Even though I only walk on the roads of my neighborhood, I chose the All Terrain style because they felt the best on my feet. I have had them for about a year and they have been wonderful! My only small complaint about them is that it seems as if the fabric doesn't breathe very well and my feet get VERY sweaty! Other than that, I love the support and comfort that they offer on my daily walks!
