I purchased these shoes a couple of weeks ago. First of all I would like to say these are a very comfortable shoe. I hike trails quite a bit so I wanted to find a comfortable and durable shoe that would serve my needs. The insole that comes with them is pretty good however I did add a special sports cushion insole instead which has worked well in conjunction with these shoes. New balance is a quality company from my experience and they continued with that reputation with these walking shoes. The outer soles look very durable as does the rest of the shoe and I have tested their comfort on the hard floors where I work and also on the Hop river trail in Bolton, Ct on what was about a 5 mile hike. My verdict was a positive one as my feet felt really good the entire time at work and on the trail. Price wise I really think they are worth the 69.99 but I had a 20% off coupon so I used it for a discount. I have not ever been disappointed with a new balance product before and I believe this will not end up being the first time. I have not seen a shoe before that has such a good balance of quality and comfort built into it. I will be returning to do an update to this review once I accumulate more miles on these shoes.
