Nhl 2 K8 Play Station 2 By masterreviewer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

NHL 2k8 is the latest release from 2K Sports for their hockey collection. I was very excited to get it because I have heard such hype about it and all the new features. I must also say that upon playing it I was shocked to find it was pretty much the same game as 2K7 with perhaps a few new moves and a sort of updated roster. Many signings that happened later in the offseason have not happened and the players are still in the Free Agency pool. Also another feature I was excited about was seeing the new jersey's on the players. That must be a locked item, because I have yet to find a way to be able to get them. Who knows how long it will take to acquire all of them. But as I said the game play is the same (which isn't a bad thing) 2K has long been the more realistic hockey game to play whereas its counterpart NHL 08 was more arcade style. I am happy with it, just a little bit disappointed in the bells and whistles. The players faces seem to have more detail on them as well, but I stil can't get over how everyone in the game has a mullet... what is up with that?
