We stayed at Heath Hill B&B on Heath Road in Colden, NY on our trip to Buffalo. It is about 20 minutes outside the city.

This private bed and breakfast is a great place for a relaxing weekend. It only has only one room available for rental, which is a converted mother-in-law apartment that sleeps four. There is a bedroom with a queen bed, a sitting room with a table and a pull-out couch, a kitchenette, a full bathroom, and the piece de resistance: a private hot tub. (We had a party of four when we went and we were pretty comfortable with the amount of living space.) The suite also has a private deck with a porch swing.

The entire home is beautiful, and also very quiet and private. We even saw deer walking up to the apple tree in the front yard. The hosts were very gracious, even offering to put our rain-soaked clothing in the dryer. And I had the best, and largest, breakfasts I've had in ages, including fresh fruit and sumptuous baked goods.

They say that business is a little slow lately because of all the new hotels, so please consider them for your next stay. It's $90 a night for double occupancy
