Nice Movie, Just Needs Better Characters By Kevin Roman on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This movie is about a girl whose parents neglect her. Coraline discovers a fantasy world in which everything goes perfect that allures her. Upon subsequent visits to this world, Coraline learns that she has been deceived and needs to escape this world. The 3d glasses had pretty good effects, making things leap out at you. The only flaw of this movie was that it was hard to get attached to the characters since they weren't too exciting. Fortunately, the characters are at least tolerable and the movie could run on plot alone. The differences between the 2 worlds were very nice to see, especially when the fantasy world unravels with ideal versions of people in the real world, like Coraline's parents in this fantasy world actually want to spend time with her.

A strange scene to note was that in the circus of the fantasy world, 2 old, fat, busty, women were scantily clad in a performance but it was only a disguise to hide slender figures who performed acrobatics. I will admit it threw me off-guard and it was original.
