Nick Jr.'S Peekaboo, Blue! Interactive Book By Micah Scott on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Nick Jr.'s Peekaboo, Blue! Is a fun book to share with your child. It is a ten page, hardcover book featuring the well known character Blue and many of his friends. It also includes five lift up flaps where your child will discover one or more of the characters hiding and playing peek-a-boo.

Blue is a familiar character to most children, and even if he is not to yours, kids quickly take to this blue little puppy. The book is about the game of peek-a-boo, something else most children recognize. On each set of pages Blue seeks out some of his friends and your child is able to help Blue find them by lifting the various flaps. The flaps are various sizes and resemble items like a towel or table cloth. They are all made out of cloth except the sandpaper like one on the beach page. The pictures are also very colorful but simple, with not a lot of background extras or details to distract your child.

The only negative we found with this book was with the sandpaper flap. It was the one flap which flips down instead of up and was made from seemingly sandpaper not cloth. This flap rips very easily. The book is intended to be a hands-on book which means children will be pulling and twisting in various degrees. This page is not at all durable like the others as was ripped almost immediately by our son. It was torn out completely not long after.

Overall it was a fun book to share with our son and he laughed and played along, covering his eyes as we played peek-a-boo with Blue and his friends. Just remember, if you do come across this book to go easy on the paper flap as it is much less durable than the others. This book has a printed US price on the back of $7.99. We found ours at Half Price Books and I have seen them at Wal-Mart for less as well.

My sons loved this PeekaBoo book Micah. The different flaps added to their love of the peek a boo game I'd play with them. It's simple but enchanting for little ones.

Kids sure do love the flaps in books. I think this one sounds like a good one to add to a home library.
