Nights In Rodanthe By Rae777 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Nights in Rodanthe is directed by George Wolfe and written by Ann Peacock (The Chronicles of Narnia) and John Romano. The book was written by Nicholas Sparks. Nights in Rodanthe stars Richard Gere, Diane Lane, Christopher Meloni, Viola Davis and Scott Glenn. The film was filmed in a pretty location in North Carolina.
This movie is about a doctor, played by Gere, who is trying to come to terms with personal and professional problems. While staying in a hotel he meets a woman, played by Diane Lane, who has a big decision to make herself. Nights in Rodanthe deals with these two people trying to deal with their problems while growing more and more attracted to each other.
Nights in Rodanthe, as a book, was one of Nicholas Sparks's usual boy meets girl books. His books are generally short and uncomplicated. Unfortunately, this movie was just the book portrayed on the big screen. In other words, this story worked as a book but as movie it is was lacking depth and character development. It has a good soundtrack though.
This was a good movie but I expected more.
Nights in Rodanthe is rated PG 13 for adult scenes.
