I got the Nikon D40 camera as a birthday gift from my brother which I have been saving money to get it this Christmas. Nikon D40 is the most compact and light digital SLR by Nikon which is great for me as a entry level photography enthusiast. It is very ergonomic and very to use with a lot of programmable functions. I like the battery life and cheap expansion memory card. It has good kit lens, no shutter lag and fast autofocus and well-built LCD display. However, it does not have the image stabilization featured in most Sony cameras. I do not print large posters in which the 6 MP is still good for me. So, I find the camera perfect for travellers like me who need good, high quality pictures and lightweight DSLR to capture the best memories with friends and family members.
