Nikon E4800 - If you find a used one buy it
By jb_shops onI have well tested this camera for the past 3 years. At 4.0-Mega pixels and an 8.3x optical zoom, this camera has all the specs that are required of all casual photographers even compared to the latest point-and-shoot models. This takes the SD format cards.
Pros:
Nikon optics: This is a camera made by a camera company and it shows!
15 Picture modes:This probably has more camera modes than are utilized by most consumers, but it does give you some flexibility to control the camera to improve your finish products
Easy to grip:fits nicely in your hand also has a tripod mount
View Finder:A real viewfinder like you would have on a conventional film camera; you are not stuck with only looking at the screen which may be hard to see in bright conditions.
Cons:
jpg format only: This may limit some users
limited iso range: 50-400
automatic lens cover: only item that has not been durable
battery:Although the battery life is pretty good, its proprietary format limits options. Can't use standard AA batteries.
Display screen: It is rather small at 1.8".
Conclussion: If you are not looking for an ultra compact digital camera, this Nikon Coolpix 4800 camera has everything you need to be very happy. My recommendation if you see one for a good deal, grab it and you'll be extremely happy.

If I had to have a digital camera, this would be it. The viewfinder alone, plus the Nikon name clinch the deal for me.
Always good to have more info on the oh-so-many choices out there.
Thanks for that expert advice. I will surely remember that.
