Nine West Jacquard Briefcase

My oldest daughter is moving to Florida in June to join her sister so she has been job hunting for a while.On a trip in February she needed a briefcase to hold her resume material, copies, pens, and hopefully have room for her laptop while she went on interviews.
At TJ Maxx we found this awesome briefcase by Nine West which regularly retailed for $140.00 in the sale section for $40.00.We both loved the color and design.It is a jacquard two tone green and beige color with a soft brown leather trim.The two handles are at a perfect length so she can carry it across her shoulder.
The briecfase has silver colored tabs on the bottom to protect it from wear.The overall measurement is 16" wide, 12" tall and the base is 5" across at the molded bottom.There is a zippered pocket on one side and on the other side there is a large pocket that snaps closed.When you open the briefcase you can do so from either side with the zipper and it has a very generous roomy area for all kinds of notebooks, folders, paperwork, etc.There is a pocket for your cell phone with a velcro closure.Next to this there are three elastic sections for pens to be kept in.There is also a zippered pocket on the inside for anything valualble and a leather fob to clip your keys to.Last of all there is a padded insert for her laptop which has a velcro closure to keep it safe.This was the clincher that said BUY ME!
My daughter loves her briefcase and she has carried it back and forth job hunting many times.The only reason it got a low score on security was that it has no lock.Although the zipper can be pulled up from both sides and meet in the middle, a suitcase type lock could be used if need be but we felt it would detract from the overall great look.Besides that, Nine West gets a thumbs up on this well thought out briefcase.
Update On Apr 06, 2010: Even though my daughter has found a job, she continues to use this briefcase for business meetings and training sessions she travels to.When I was down this past month I happened to spot the bag in her bedroom and it looks as nice as when we purchased it.This Nine West briefcase was definitely a good purchase and investment.
Very stylish and great bargain. I love that store. You can always find such great items at way less than retail. I think a small lock, like the ones they put on a pully case would not distract too much if she would pull the zipper tags off to one side.

This sounds like a great briefcase. You got the briefcase at an awesome price.
They have decorative padlock type locks for luggage and briefcases, that don't detract from the overall good looks of the case. This might be a perfect solution for her. They're very small and come on gold or silver, and look good enough to be on a charm bracelet, but they are real locks.
Ya know? I got a 'thing' for Nine West bags. I own quite a few of the purses, I'm not surprised that I think this briefcase is nice looking.

Oh, and I have the matching purse!!! I love it. It goes with everything i wear.
